Typhoon Lagoon
is one of the Disney water parks. The story goes that a huge
storm impaled a shrimp boat "Miss Tilly" onto the peak of
a huge volcanic mountain and this now overlooks the theme
park.! If you believe that - well you will probably enjoy
Orlando a lot. Humunga Kowabunga will drop you 214 feet down a
steep incline at up to 30 mph. For those less ambitious there
are 2 'inner tube' rides Mayday & Keel Haul Falls. If that
is not enough you can try the 3 storm slides. Gangplank Falls
takes 4 riders at a time and the Shark Reef allows snorkeling
amongst a wreck, tropical fish and nurse sharks! For a more
leisurely ride hop on Castaway Creek |
| Blizzard
Beach is Disneys other premier water park. It's
hard to imagine all of that snow in the middle of
Florida. You have to be surprised that it doesn't
melt. The headliners rides are Mount Gushmore and Summit
Plummet but there's plenty to suit everyones taste even if you
just want to grab a sun loungers and ....well lounge. |

Water Mania
in Kissimmee is focussed on the family rather than thrill seekers
although there are plenty of rides to get your rush. With 3
acres of wooded picnic area with a playground it scores over its
rivals. Wipe Out is a non-stop surfing ride and Screamer is a
free fall slide. There are other thrill rides including Twin
Tornados (opp.) as well as a wave pool and other more relaxing rides
like Crusin' Creek. Click on Twin Tornados to visit the Water
Mania web site |

| Disneys River Country is
an "old-fashioned swimmin' hole where you just might
bump into Tom Sawyer and Huckelberry Finn cooling off after a
run-in with Aunt Becky!" There's a pool and a
lake which was extremely cold when we visited. We
understand that the area is currently closed until further
notice. |
