Lakes is on Highway 27. Technically in Polk County it is just west
of Kissimmee. Together with the 'Espirit/Polo Park' community it is
the closest community to the famous Highway 192 (less than half a mile)
and so makes it very convenient for the shops, restaurants, bars and, of
course, the theme parks. Walk Disney World is a 9.8 mile drive.
The community is a quiet area with Lake Davenport to the east - just a few minutes walk from the villa. Here you will find a lovely picnic area next to the lake as well as the community pool, its' tennis court and childrens' play area. There is also a car park here if the couple of minutes walk is just too much! You require a key to use the facilities and this is held in the villa. There are some tennis rackets and balls there. We have yet to find anyone else using the court! To the front of the community is a row of shops including a hairdressers. Further along is a gas station with a convenience store and deli. Adjacent to that is a bank with a cash machine. Adjoining the community is Polo Park which has a 9 hole public golf course. You will see some of the fairways running between the villas nearby.
