Beaches

With the Atlanic on the East and the Gulf of Mexico to the West you are never going to be troubled trying to find somewhere to use your bucket and space or surfboard. To the South are the famous Florida Keys.

This page is not a definitive guide but we hope to give you a few ideas of where you can go to relax once you are all Disneyed out.  As we visit beaches we will add more information - look out for the links on the place names

Gulf of Mexico

St Petes/Clearwater has 35 miles of white sand beaches.  It's only half an hour from Busch Gardens and has an aquarium and museum on its doorstep.  The beaches and keys of Tampa stretch from Anclote Key right down to Egmont Key taking in Honeymoon Island Park, Clearwater, Indian Rocks, Treasure Island and St. Petes.

Further South you will find Sarasota, Port Charlotte, Fort Myers, Cape Coral, Naples and the Everglades before you hit the Keys.

The Keys are a group of islands linked together running from Key Largo through to Key West.

Working round to the Atlantic coast you hit Miami with its famous beach and Fort Lauderdale.  There are numerous beaches as you move northwards towards Cape Canaveral and Cocoa Beach.  Beyond there is Daytona, Palm Coast and St Augustine.
