The Magic Kingdom was Walt Disneys' original dream.

The park is very easy to get to from Tigger-Woods - a 10 mile drive.  Don't forget to take something to attach to your car aerial to identify your car when you leave and please use the walkie-talkies in case your party gets split up.  A hopper ticket (see ticket information) will get your entry but you do have to pay to park.  Be prepared to have you bags searched - they take their guests security seriously.

You enter the main park by getting a lift either on the monorail or the ferry across the lake.  The latter is a lovely way to see the park for the first time.

The Magic Kingdom is split into 6 lands.  Whilst attractions do change from time to time, below is an idea of what is currently available.  It really is worth deciding on your must do rides and shows before you go, but be prepared to go at your families pace or it can chance from a holiday to a routemarch!  Decide where you plan to eat and try to book first.  For example the Crystal Palace does a great character meal but is very popular.

Remember your tickets also give you fast passes to save you queuing so long.  Make good use of them.

ADVENTURELAND

Here, there are some nice rides, the Jungle Cruise and Pirates of the Caribbean.  The latter may be a little scary for very young children and both. whilst fun, will be tame for those seeking thrill rides.  The Swiss Family Treehouse and Magic Carpets of Aladdin are also in Adventureland.

FRONTIERLAND

Two of the big rides are in Frontierland and experienced park goers will often grab a fast pass for one and then join the queue for the other at the beginning of the day.  Big Thunder Mountain is a runaway train ride and Splash Mountain a water ride.

LIBERTY SQUARE

Here you can join the Steam Boat around the lake and take a trip around the Haunted Mansion.  You can even lock your kids away.

FANTASYLAND

Built around Cinderellas Castle there's lots to do here for the Magic Kingdoms youngers guests. Dumbo the Flying Elephant, Mad Tea party and the many adventures of Winnie the Pooh are just some.  Mickey's PhilharMagic is a popular show with both young and old.

MICKEY'S TOONTOWN FAIR

More rides and entertainment for younger guests including Donalds Boat and the Toontown Hall of fame.

TOMORROWLAND

With Space Mountain and the Time-Keeper, tomorrowland has some of the best entertainment for the not so young guests.  Space Mountain is a indoor roller coaster in the dark and the Time-Keeper is set in a circular arena with the show projected 360 degrees.  The Astro Orbiter is basically a merry go round where you control the height of your space ship (don't queue long for this one!).  Buzz Lightyear is a good ride for youngsters.

Walt Disney's Carousel of Progress was one of Walts' original ideas and it is still running.  A nice show and you get to sit down!

Main Street USA has plenty of shops.  Nice to browse in but try not to do it as you enter or you will end up queuing for your favorite rides.  The street hosts the daily parade.  Grab a spot early if you want to see this and have young children.  If you aren't interested in the parade it is a great time to jump on the headline rides.

There's lots more, of course, and you can find details at the official and unofficial web sites.
