The journey 'across the pond' is a little under 4000 miles and is likely to represent a large part of your overall holiday budget.

It is well worth shopping around and considering non-direct flights.  The information below is based on our experience and is not a definitive guide but we hope it will give your some pointers.

Britannia (Thomsons) fly into Sanford which about an hours drive from the villa (see directions).  The flights are direct from Gatwick.  We have found that Britannia have offered some of the best prices but these very much depend upon the time of year that you are visiting.  The flights include meals and movies on the overhead televisions.

Expedia have provided some good prices usually on the fly-drive option so you book your flight and hire car together.  I have known this to come out cheaper than a flight!  We used North-West Airlines when we booked through Expedia.  They were very good and the in-flight entertainment is excellent.  Each seat has its' own monitor and you can choose to watch films whenever you want, (plenty to choose from), as well as games and music.  We flew via Detroit both ways.  Whilst it is nice to go direct the journey was very good and as you have already passed immigration in Detroit you wizz through Orlando (MCO) airport.
